The Solar Taxi is headed for Michigan
What a bummer! I have been following the Solar Taxi for at least 6 months now and was very excited when it landed in Los Angeles. Being that I am outside of Chicago, that seemed so far away! Somehow I thought I would be able to catch a glimpse of it or that it would be on the news or something. However, when you work a full time job many times things can slip by you.
That is what happened to the Solar Taxi. I thought today that I would go to their site on www.solartaxi.com and see their progress. After all, their support car had a major problem climbing a mountain near Denver, Colorado. (The Solar Taxi climbed it with ease, by the way.) Surely, that would slow them down some. Not hardly! After spending 3 days in Chicago, the Solar Taxi is now headed to Michigan! I totally missed it! Sometimes in life one has to just accept that fact that we cannot be everywhere at once and we will miss somethings, no matter how hard we try.
As to electric cars being slow, the Solar Taxi is no slouch! I do believe that the completely recyclable Zebra battery is the main reason that they can travel 249 miles before they have to recharge. Also, this ceramic, nickel and salt battery can be recharged even if it is not completely discharged. With their high efficiency Q-cell solar panels supplying the electricity, the Solar Taxi keeps on “chugging” along, just like a freight train that is not phased by anything. Look for a future review of the Q cell solar technology, as a quick glance at their company was also exciting!

You are absolutely right! It would be nice to catch everything a person wants, but life doesnt work that way.
I thought this report on Solar Taxi’s was completely interesting. I actually had no clue they even existed. Thanks for the information!
